12-1 pm: Blackout Poetry Workshop
Bring a poem and turn it into a Blackout Poem! Poems Selected to be in our Exhibition receive cash prizes on the day.
1 pm - 4 pm: Meet and Greet for Selected Artist participating in the project, open to public event with some performances, music, food and drinks.
Join us for the Wordcore Wayfinders: Illuminated Horizons Project Launch at Te Puna Creative Hub! This special event marks the beginning of an exciting exploration of poetry, music, and visual storytelling, where artists come together to push creative boundaries and craft immersive experiences.
We’re kicking things off with a free, hands-on Blackout Poetry Workshop, open to all! Come transform existing text into striking new poetry, with selected pieces earning a spot in our upcoming exhibition. 3 selected pieces will be awarded a cash prize on the night of $ 80 each. All submitted blackout poetry pieces will be uploaded to a digital art gallery that can be accessed at any time on our website.
After the workshop, we’ll set sail into the next phase of the project with a Meet & Greet, where we’ll introduce the incredible artists selected for this year’s adventure. Expect live performances, music, and plenty of creative energy as we bring together poets, musicians, and visual artists to navigate bold new artistic territories.
