Illuminated Horizons
Illuminated Horizons is a annual poetic spectacle that blends words music and visual art in an intermedia stage show and exhibiton. Set within the transformed walls of Te Puna Creative Hub, this event is a celebration of identity, cultural legacy, and the luminous force of creative resistance.
What Illuminates your horizon? How can we create a positive impact on our future? This is what we asked our collaborating artists before we embarked on a 6 month collaborative process.
What is our culture, heritage and identity? The Wayfinders explore what it means to be who we are through ancient red threads, identity and community.
the work will explore topics of ancestry, heritage and diaspora, to shine a light on and make the invisible shine like stars in our society.
Illuminated Horizons #1 2025:
In its first year, the ambitious showcase brought together 23 artists that resulted in five creative trios, 2 Wordcore bands and other creatives participating in our immersive exhibition—composed of writers, musicians, and visual artists—who present original inter-arts performances shaped through deep collaboration and shared vision.
